Clemson Prospects Excel in 2000 Shrine Bowl

Tymere Zimmerman

*TYMERE ZIMMERMAN - Marlboro County - Zimmerman was exceptional throughout the afternoon, showing soft hands on a number of leaping catches and exceptional jumping ability on a lob pass to end the first half. At 6-3, Zimmerman looks similar to current Clemson receiver Rod Gardner, particularly due to the fact that he showed a knack for catching long balls in a crowd. Other than seeming a bit hesitant over the middle, Zimmerman seems to have all of the tools to be an impact receiver in college.

Kyle Browning

*KYLE BROWNING - Union - Despite being one of the smallest players on the field (5-9, 160 pounds), Browning displayed good hands and exceptional quickness. A running back in high school, Browning appears to be ideally suited for the slot-back position in college.

*ROGER MCINTOSH - Gaffney - The 6-4, 225 McIntosh was relatively quiet for most of the afternoon although he did show exceptional speed a knack for being around the ball. Needs to bulk up a bit but certainly appears to have the physical attributes to make an impact at the next level.

Roscoe Crosby

ROSCOE CROSBY - Union - Not unlike Zimmerman, Crosby is a fairly large target (6'2”, 215 pounds) with soft hands and explosive running ability. Crosby showed quick feet and impressive strength after the catch to go along with tremendous vision in the open field. Should he choose college football over professional baseball, Crosby appears to be a can’t-miss prospect.

*JEFF LITTLEJOHN - Gaffney - Quite simply, Littlejohn’s post-play antics throughout much of the afternoon took away from what was an otherwise dominating performance. The 6-3, 280 pound defensive tackle was a beast against the run and fairly effective rushing the passer. Unfortunately, an incident in which he repeatedly kicked a North Carolina lineman out of bounds will be what most people in attendance remember about his afternoon.

GEORGE GAUSE - Conway- At 6-4, 245 pounds, Gause impressed with both his quickness and athleticism from the defensive end position. Perhaps better suited to play linebacker in college, Gause displayed explosive hitting ability and a nose for the football.

Leo Reed

*LEO REED - Georgetown - As a constant presence in the North Carolina backfield for much of the afternoon, the 6-6, 288-pound Reed single-handedly destroyed the Tarheel rushing attack. In short, Reed appears to be a monster in the making.

ANTWAN MARSH - Anson County (N.C.) - Marsh is a 6-3, 215 pound linebacker with blazing speed and exceptional pass rushing abilities. Perhaps overaggressive to a fault, Marsh took himself out of a number of plays with his eagerness to get to the quarterback. Regardless, Marsh’s obvious athletic ability makes him an enticing prospect.
