*According to the unofficial defensive stats from the pressbox, Clemson linebacker Keith Adams had six tackles for loss today, an all-time Clemson single game record. The previous record of five was set by Steve Durham against Maryland in 1979 and by Michael Dean Perry against NC State in 1987. Adams also had three sacks in the game, tying the Clemson single game mark in that area, a record held by many players. Adams now has 15 tackles for loss in just four games, more than half way to the Clemson single season record of 27 held by William Perry in 1984 and Rob Bodine in 1991.

*Travis Zachery gained a career high 129 yards rushing on 28 attempts today. It was the first 100-yard rushing game by a Clemson back since Raymond Priester had 24-112 against South Carolina in 1997.

*Woody Dantzler had 56 run a touchdown this afternoon, the longest run by any Clemson player since the last regular season game of 1996, a 65 yard run by Priester against South Carolina.

*Clemson rushed for 236 yards this afternoon, more than double the school' s previous best this year. In fact, Clemson had just 275 yards on the ground in the first three games combined. The 236 yards today were the most since Clemson had 277 at South Carolina in 1997.

*Clemson had a 100-yard rusher (Travis Zachery) and a 100-yard receiver (Rod Gardner). It was the first time since the 1997 Appalachian State game that Clemson had a 100-yard rusher and 100-yard receiver in the same game. It was just the fourth time in the decade of the 1990s that Clemson has had one of each in the same game.

*Gardner had 7-127 and a touchdown today, his career high in terms of
receiving yards in a game. Gardner now has 33-398 for the season, more receptions and reception yards than he had in the first 23 games of his career (or his career stats entering this season).

*Clemson now has nine interceptions on defense in four games this season. The Tigers have already exceeded their interception of last year (7).

*Robert Carswell, now has three interceptions in his last two games after failing to get an interception in his first 25 games.

*Brandon Streeter suffered a broken collarbone in the first half of today's game. He will be out for the remainder of the regular season, but could return for a bowl game if Clemson is selected. Streeter was 8-11 for 77 yards and is 82-120 for the season for 802 yards. His 68.3 percentage mark is a Clemson single season record. The minimum used is 100 attempts for a season, so he will have enough attempts to qualify for the record.

*Brian Wofford caught three passes today and now has 101 for his career. He became the sixth player in Clemson history to reach 100 receptions in a career. Classmate Mal Lawyer was shutout for the first time this year however, and still needs 19 yards to reach 1000 in receiving. Lawyer did have a career high 59 yards in punt returns, including. a career best 32 yard return.

*Woody Dantzler's 56-yard run was the longest by a Clemson quarterback since Louis Solomon ran 64 yards for a touchdown at Virginia-in 1992.

*Jason Holloman's interception was the first by a Clemson defensive lineman since Marvin Cross had an interception at North Carolina in 1994. In the last 11 years, Clemson has now had five interceptions by defensive linemen and three have been against North Carolina. Vance Hammond had. an interception against, the Tar Heels in 1988.

*Woody Dantzler had 82 yards rushing and 131 yards passing for 213 yards of total, offense. It was the best relief performance by a Clemson QB in terms of total offense since the 1993 Virginia game when Dexter McCleon had 227 yards of total offense in relief of Patrick Sapp in a Clemson victory. Ironically, both of those players are now starters on defense in the NFL, Sapp with Arizona and McCleon with the St. Louis Rams.

*Today' Homecoming Queen was Kristy Lynn Johnson, who represented the Water Ski team., Clemson is 'now 25-2-2 on Homecoming since-1970.

*Clemson had 236 yards rushing and 208 passing in today's game, the first time Clemson has had at least 200 in both areas since last year's win over Furman. It was the first time Clemson has done that against an ACC team since 1996 (Wake Forest).

*Clemson is now 2-0 in the ACC, the first time since 1988 that Clemson has gotten off to a 2-0 league start. Tommy Bowden is the first coach since Red Parker (1973) to win his first two games in the ACC (as a Clemson coach)

*Clemson won the turnover battle 4-2 today and is now +6 in four games this year. The Tigers were -11 in turnovers last year and ranked 103rd in the nation, last in the ACC.

*Kyle Young limped off the field with a sprained ankle late in the game but should be ready to go for the-NC State game.

*Clemson and Florida State are now the only undefeated teams in the ACC Standings.
