Dabo Swinney after practice audio (MP3 Format)

Notes

- Swinney said that DeAndre Hopkins who suffered a hamstring injury in the FSU game was "moving around pretty good." Swinney said Hopkins is not quite 100% and is about where Andre Ellington was with his hamstring this time last week. Hopkins will be listed as probable for the Virginia Tech game.

- Brandon Thomas will start at left guard against VT. David Smith and Mason Cloy will also play. Swinney said Smith has had a good week coming off an injury, but Thomas has been practicing very well.

- Swinney said punter Dawson Zimmerman "looked great" and he feels "really good about him" [playing against Virginia Tech].

- Clemson used backup quarterbacks Tony McNeal and Morgan Roberts to simulate Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas in practice this week.

- Clemson practiced with crowd noise all week that Swinney called "probably overkill" just to see how the players would respond to it. Swinney said the noise should not be as a big factor for his team as it would be for others because Clemson does not huddle.

- Injury report:

Out: Mansa Joseph, RB, Special Teams, hamstring

Probable: DeAndre Hopkins, WR, hamstring; Dawson Zimmerman, P, knee; D.J. Howard, RB, hamstring; David Smith, OG, shoulder
