Clemson Football Sunday Notes |
*Charlie Whitehurst now has 204 completions for the season, an
all-time Clemson record. Previous record was 203 by Woody Dantzler in 2001. Whitehurst needs just 169 passing yards to break Dantzler's single season record of 2568 set in 2001. Whitehurst has 2410 entering this week's game against Florida State. It will be tall task because Florida State is fourth in the nation in pass efficiency defense *Clemson had 343 yards passing at Wake Forest, tied for the fourth most for a single game in Clemson history. *Derrick Hamilton needs just 122 all-purpose yards against Florida State to become Clemson's career leader. He has 4270, Travis Zachery had 4391 between 1998-01. *Clemson will have an opportunity to record its highest ranked victory in history when third ranked Florida State comes to Death Valley. A #4 ranked Georgia and Nebraska teams, both victories gained in 1981, is the highest ranked team Clemson has defeated. Clemson is 0-9 in history in teams ranked third or better. Florida State is third in the nation in both polls entering the game. *Clemson tackle leaders on Saturday vs. Wake Forsest: Fudge 12, Pugh 10, Leake 9, Donnell Washington 9, Leroy Hill 7, Khaleed Vaughn 6, Mo Fountain 6 *No new injuries reported on Sunday.
