Clemson 36th in Final Sear's Director's Cup Standings

Clemson, SC - Clemson ranked 36th in the final Sears Director?s Cup

Standings for the 2006-07 academic year. The final standings were

released on Wednesday by NACDA. The Director?s Cup rates the overall

sports programs of all Division I programs by evaluating final polls and

NCAA Tournament participation.

Clemson?s #36 ranking is the school?s best since a #26 ranking in

2001-02. Clemson was 39th in 2005-06 and 52nd in 2004-05 so the program

has made progress over the last three years. Clemson scored 477.3 points

in the ranking, its third highest point total since the rankings began in

1993-94.

Clemson had eight programs rank in the top 25 of its respective final

polls in 2006-07, the most top 25 rankings for the Tiger program since

2001-02. Clemson programs that finished in the final top 25 in their

respective sports polls were Men?s soccer, women?s soccer, men?s tennis,

women?s tennis, baseball, men?s indoor track, men?s outdoor track, and

golf. The men?s soccer, women?s soccer, women?s tennis and baseball

teams all reached the Final 16 of their respective NCAA Tournaments.
