Chris McDuffie Commits to Clemson

CLEMSON -- Offensive lineman Chris McDuffie (6-5 310) of Hargrave Military Prep in Virginia committed to Clemson today. He selected the Tigers over Florida State, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. Although an offensive lineman at Hargrave Clemson will probably use McDuffie on the defensive line. McDuffie was impressed with the academics and support for the athletes at Clemson. "They won’t let you fail," said McDuffie. "They support the idea of having you come there and your main purpose of coming there is to get a degree.” According to sources, Clemson coaches discovered McDuffie when they attended the Hargrave Military Combine in December. They were very impressed with his quickness and strength, and decided to offer. He made his official visit to Clemson last weekend and has canceled upcoming visits to Florida State and Arkansas. Currently McDuffie says he has offers from Clemson, Florida State, ECU and Central Michigan. "I like the atmophere at Clemson," said McDuffie. "Everyone bonds together." McDuffie attended George Washington High School in Danville, VA. He was named to the second team of the Associated Press’ Virginia Group AAA after his senior year, but did not qualify and enrolled at Hargrave.

Clemson assistant Thielen Smith recruited McDuffie for the Tigers.
