View Full Profile , the No. 1 recruit in the nation. But Swinney wanted Kamara for a special reason – an official offer from the Tigers.

“We had really just gotten on campus, and Coach Swinney took me aside and said he wanted to talk to me,” Kamara told TigerNet. “He told me they wanted to offer me. He told me they liked me, and then we just talked about different stuff. But that meant a lot that he wanted to make the offer himself. He personally made it, so that felt good.”

Following the offer, the teammates then went to eat before returning to campus to watch the Tigers’ fourth practice of the spring.

“We watched them in their meetings, and then we went to practice,” he said. “That was good, because it reminded me of how we practice in high school. It is similar because we use periods, and then the horn blows and you move on. It was very similar.”

Kamara said he has a good relationship with all the Clemson coaches.

“I like all of the coaches a lot,” he said. “You can tell they are really committed. They hold you to a high standard, and they always try and lift you up and stuff. And the secondary coach – Coach Harbison – I love talking to him.”

Kamara said that he feels like Swinney and his high school coach are a lot alike, not surprising since Mickey Conn played with Swinney at Alabama in the early 90’s.

“I know they are really close friends,” Kamara said of Swinney and Conn. “They are just alike, and they carry themselves with dignity.”

Kamara said that he and Nkemdiche each liked their visit.

“I know Robert liked it a lot,” he said. “The campus is really nice, and the facilities are great. Everything they do lets you focus on football.”

The 5-11, 185-pounder has been offered by Clemson, Ole Miss and Mississippi State, while Arkansas, Florida and Tennessee are other programs showing interest.

As a junior, Kamara recorded 53 tackles, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles helping Grayson to the AAAAA state championship.

He says that Clemson leads for his services at this point, along with another Grayson teammate that has Clemson at the top of his list – running back Wayne Gallman Wayne Gallman

What is the chance that all three could play together on the next level?

“There is a high chance of that,” he said. “We all like Coach Swinney and the other coaches and how they carry themselves. I like the atmosphere and how they are one big family. There is a good chance we could all play together. We are all looking to go where we fit the best. If they want to go somewhere else, then that is what they need to do. But I think we all want to go somewhere where we can stay a family.”
