Buddy Williams Dismissed from Football Team
Williams had 17 tackles for the Tigers mostly on special teams.
CLEMSON - Redshirt freshman cornerback Larry "Buddy" Williams has been dismissed from the Clemson football team, school Sports Information Director Tim Bourret confirmed Sunday afternoon.
Williams, from Tallahassee, was removed from the team Saturday, according to a source familiar with the situation. Bourret would only say he was removed from the squad over a "violation of team rules." He is not expected to return to
Early attempts to reach both Williams and head coach Tommy Bowden were unsuccessful. Bowden was with the team on the practice field and was unavailable for comment.
Williams finished the semester academically last week and has returned to Tallahassee, FL. Williams played 25 snaps on defense and
played in every game on special teams in 2003. He had 17 tackles for
the season, 14 on special teams.
