Bowden on Rodney Allison being Named Head Coach at Chattanooga
"I have coached with Rodney Allison for many years and he will make a terrific head coach. I worked on the offensive side of the ball with him at Duke and Auburn for seven years combined, and he has worked on my staff as a defensive coach for the last four years. "He knows both sides of the ball and has been significantly involved in our special teams. Clemson fans will remember how we stopped South Carolina's fake field goal late in the fourth quarter this year. Defending that situation was Rodney's responsibility and he put his players in position to make the play. South Carolina failed and never got the ball back. It was a big reason we won the game. "His players, the coaching staff and our administration will miss Coach Allison. He has had a lot to do with our selection to four bowl games in four years. "Rodney will not coach our bowl game, he will begin recruiting for Chattanooga immediately. At this time, I don't know if we will have a replacement by the bowl game. If we don't, current assistants will divide his responsibilities."
