Basketball Adds Second Commitment for 2003

CLEMSON -- Vernon Hamilton, 6-1, 185-pound guard from Benedictine H.S. in

Richmond, Va., verbally committed to the Clemson basketball program Tuesday.

Hamilton, an all-stater in both football and basketball as a junior,

averaged 15 points and 8 assists last season.

Besides Clemson, Hamilton was offered scholarships by Georgia, West Virginia, Virginia,

NC State, and Charlotte. Hamilton made an official visit to Clemson over the weekend and has

canceled visits to Utah, Colorado, West Virginia and Florida State.

Hamilton is Clemson's second committment for 2003. Jimmy Hudson, a 6-3, 175-pound combo guard from Eustis

High School in Eustis, FL committed in July.
