ACC Announces 2002 Football Schedule

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner John Swofford released the 2002 ACC Football Schedule today. The 2002 season marks the beginning of the ACC's 50th Anniversary celebration.


This year's schedule is comprised of 74 games, including 36 conference match-ups, over a span of 15 weeks. This year also features each school playing a minimum of 12 games with two schools playing 13 games: Florida State kicks off the season August 24 against Iowa State in the Eddie Robinson Classic in Kansas City and Maryland meets Notre Dame on August 31 in the Kickoff Classic in East Rutherford, N.J.
