The ACC is the all-time winningest conference in the nation in terms of bowl success...the nine current ACC teams are a combined 81-70-5 (.535) in bowl game play...the Pacific-10 is second to the ACC with an 88-77-6 (.532) mark, the SEC is third with a 144-135-13 (.515) record.

ACC BOWL NOTES

* Florida State made its 18th straight bowl appearance a year ago, losing to Tennessee, 23-16, in the Fiesta Bowl.

* North Carolina is the only team in the country to have won a bowl game in each of the past four seasons.

* Virginia's George Welsh, with 10, has more bowl appearances than any other coach in ACC history.

* Clemson's Danny Ford leads all ACC coaches with six bowl victories.

* A year ago, North Carolina was the first team in ACC history to start a season 0-3 and still earn a bowl bid.

* The 1993 Clemson Tigers are the only team in ACC history to earn a bowl bid despite finishing last in the league in total offense.


BOWL BALANCE

Over the past nine years, the ACC is the only conference to have each of its teams to play in a bowl game...In addition, six of the nine ACC schools have played in at least one bowl game since 1995.

TECH NO. 1 BOWL TEAM

Following its win over Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl, Georgia Tech remains the nation's winningest bowl team with a 19-8 record.

ACC BOWL GAME REVENUE DISTRIBUTION

All receipts from pre-season and post-season football games will be divided equally among the member institutions after payments to the participating teams. A team participating in a preseason or postseason game shall receive expenses in an amount described below:

	Gator, Peach & Micron PC	$900,000


The Conference will share in the expense of unsold tickets (not to exceed 12,500 and calculated at the lowest ticket price available) for teams participating in bowl games, as follows:

	(1) Above 6,000 tickets, 50% of ticket cost;
	(2) Above 7,000 tickets, 75% of ticket cost;
	(3) Above 8,000 tickets, 100% of ticket cost.


Should a team participate in a game not specified above, distribution and expenses will be determined at a regular meeting of the Conference.


BOWL SUCCESS IN THE 1990's

In the decade of the 1990's, the ACC has posted the second-best bowl record of any Division I-A conference...the ACC is 22-18-1 in post-season play since 1990, a .549 winning percentage and second only to the SEC's 30-20 mark (.600).
