48th Annual Tigerama: "The Future is Orange"

by -

CLEMSON -- The members of Clemson's Blue Key have looked into the future ---- and they see orange.

Join Blue Key for the 48th annual Tigerama Oct. 15 at Littlejohn Coliseum, where "The Future is Orange." A pep rally will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the lawn of Littlejohn with Tigerama starting at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This Clemson Homecoming tradition will feature the cheerleaders, Rally Cats (and their comedic counterparts, the "Rally Boys"), Tiger Band, Tigeroar and the Pershing Rifles. As always, student organizations will perform skits, and Miss Homecoming 2004 will be crowned. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display outside. Emcees for the show will be Clemson alumni Bubba Britton from ESPN's "Beg, Borrow and Deal" and Mickey Plyler from the WCCP radio show "The Overdrive."

The pep rally before Tigerama will feature the Clemson Shag Club, Impulse and Southern Accents singing groups, the cheerleaders and Rally Cats and the Dixie Skydivers.

"We decided to have Tigerama at Littlejohn again this year because it was such a success last year," said Emily Andersen, a senior from Rock Hill majoring in parks, recreation and tourism management and Tigerama director for Blue Key. "It brings people closer to the action and the staff at Littlejohn give it a very professional touch."

Tickets for Tigerama are $8 for everyone, in advance and at the door. Tickets can be purchased on campus at the University Union and Hendrix Student Center information desks, the Campus Bookstore, the university athletic department and the Alumni Center and off campus at Tiger Sports Shop, Hubbard-Young Pharmacy, the Athletic Department store and the Student Bookstore.

People coming to Tigerama are advised that College Avenue will be closed for the basketball teams' "Midnight Madness"

event. The event begins at 12:01 a.m., but College Avenue will be closed from the intersection with S.C. 93 to Keith Street starting at 7 p.m. Road signs will be in place to direct people to Littlejohn Coliseum. Andersen encourages people to arrive early for Tigerama to avoid long lines.
