CLEMSON BASKETBALL

Tigers Still Ranked in Basketball Polls

by -

CLEMSON -- Clemson is ranked in the top 25 of both the AP and USA Today

Coaches polls released on January 29. Clemson was 21st in USA Today and 25th

in AP. This was the eighth straight week Clemson has been in the top

25 by USA Today and the sixth straight week by Associated Press.

Clemson?s number-

25 ranking by USA Today on December 11 was the first top 25 ranking for

Clemson in either poll since January 11, 1999 when Clemson was 25th in

both polls.

This is just the 12th different season that Clemson has had a

top 25 ranking in any poll. Clemson?s highest national ranking in history

is a #2 ranking in AP in January 20, 1997. The Tigers then lost to #3

Wake Forest and Tim Duncan the next day. That was also the last

season Clemson finished the season in the top 25 of a poll. The Tigers

finished 1996-97 14th in AP and eighth in USA Today.
