BOSTON – Sharrod Ford scored 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Friday night, but it was not enough as Boston College defeated Clemson 79-70 at Conte Forum in front of 7,182 fans. Clemson fell to 2-1 with the loss, while future ACC member Boston College improved to 3-0.

A nine point run at the beginning of the second half got the Tigers to within two points of BC at 41-39. However, that was close as the Tigers would get as BC answered with a 15-5 run to put the game out of reach.

Craig Smith led BC with 23 points and added Jared Dudley 17. Clemson leading scorer Shawan Robinson
was held 10 points below his season average with just 12.

Clemson had 16 steals in the game and forced BC into 22 turnovers. However, Boston College shot 23 more free throws than the Tigers who only got to the line 4 times.
BC was 53.7% from the field while Clemson was held to 45.6%
