CLEMSON – According to sources close to radio host Mickey Plyler, former Chicago Bulls coach Tim Floyd is on the Clemson campus Tuesday to interview for the men's head basketball job.

Floyd compiled a 49-190 record in four seasons with the Bulls. As a college coach, Floyd had a record of 243-130 (.651) and eight post-season tournament appearances in twelve years.

Floyd is a relentless recruiter who had the reputation of taking moderately talented teams and winning big by teaching man-to-man pressure defense and intensity to the players. In 1996-97, Floyd coached an Iowa State team that was picked for last place in the Big Eight Conference by most pre-season publications to a 24-9 record and a league tournament championship. That year Floyd earned Big Eight Coach-of-the-Year honors and finished second in National Coach-of-the-Year balloting.
