Larry Shyatt to Host Golf Tournament

Clemson, SC-Former Clemson men's basketball coach Larry Shyatt will
serve as host of the Salvation Army Boy's and Girl's Club Golf
Tournament at the Walker Course on the Clemson Campus on Monday, June
30. the Salvation Army Boys and Girls
Clubs of Anderson.


The Captain's Choice format tournament will have two flights with the
first flight to begin with a shotgun start at 7:00 AM. The second
flight will begin at 1:00 PM. The entry fee is $70 per person or
$250 for a four-person team. The fee includes cart, golf balls,
golf glove and meal. There are still opportunities for corporate
sponsorship and hole sponsors.

First prize is a $200 gift certificate, while second place is a $140
gift certificate and third place an $80 gift certificate. There
also will be a $200 gift certificate to the person who raises the
most money for the cause, in addition to a long drive and closest to
the pin contests. A new car will also be up for grabs for anyone
making a Hole in One.

"This will be a special day at a special place," said Shyatt.
"The Boys and Girls Clubs provide a positive place for young people
to realize their potential and I am proud to be a part of this
project.

"This event will also be an opportunity for our family to
thank the wonderful people in this area who touched our lives the
last eight years. I encourage everyone to come to the Walker Course
on June 30, it will be a lot of fun."
