For the First Time in the 21st Century The
2004-05 Clemson Team...
•Advanced to postseason play.
Clemson played in the NIT for the first time
since the 1998-99 season, the last time
Clemson took part in a tournament.
•Had a break even second half in the
ACC schedule. Clemson was 4-4 in the second
half of the ACC schedule, the first time Clemson
has done that since the 1998-99 season.
•Swept two ACC teams in the same
season for the first time since 1996-97.
Clemson swept Maryland and Florida State this
season.
•Had a 3-0 sweep of Maryland, the
first time Clemson has won three games in the
same year from the same ACC team since 1994
(NC State) and just the fourth time in history.
•Won three of its last four ACC
regular season games to close the regular
season, first time Clemson has done that since
1992-93.
•Made a six-victory improvement over
the previous season, the first time Clemson
has done that since making a six-win
improvement from the previous year since
1986-87.
•Had two game winning shots inside
the last 10 seconds for the first time since the
1986-87 season. Cheyenne Moore made a
three-point goal with 3.4 seconds left at South
Carolina in December and Sharrod Ford had a
dunk at the buzzer to beat Virginia Tech on Mar.

•Won an ACC game on one day’s rest
for the first time since 1992-93. The Tigers
defeated Virginia Tech 66-64 on March 1, just
after beating Florida State on Feb. 27.
•Won two ACC road games for the
first time since the 1997-98 season. Clemson
won at Florida State and at Maryland this year.
Clemson had won just three of its last 48 ACC
road games prior to this year.
•Played seven consecutive road
games that were decided by nine points or less.
Clemson had not gone seven consecutive road
games without a double digit loss since the
1986-87 season.
•Won two road games by two points
or less. Clemson won at South Carolina 63-62
in overtime and at Florida State 56-54. It was
the first time Clemson won two road games by
two points or less in the same year since 1986-
87.
•Posted a winning record in the month
of February. Clemson was 4-3 in February, the
first time since 1997-98 that Clemson had a
winning month of February.
•Won at least six games away from
home, first time Clemson has done that since
1998-99 when Clemson also won six.
Records Established in 2004-05
•Cliff Hammonds became the first
player in Clemson history to be named ACC
Rookie of the Week four times in one year.
•Hammonds established a school
record for starts (31) and minutes played (968)
in a season by a freshman.
•Vernon Hamilton had 68 steals, most
ever by a Clemson sophomore. Hamilton has
118 steals in his two seasons, most ever by a
Clemson player in his freshman and sophomore
seasons combined.
•Sharrod Ford had nine blocked shots
in the win at Maryland on Feb. 22. That was a
single game record for a road game in Clemson
history. The Tigers had 13 blocks as a team in
that game, also a school record for a team in a
road game.
•Clemson had 25 steals in the season
opener against Hampton, a school record for a
single game in Clemson history.
Clemson Single Season Bests List
•Sharrod Ford had 110 offensive
rebounds for the year, 10th best single season
total in Clemson history.
•Shawan Robinson made 69 threepoint
goals, ninth highest single season total in
Clemson total. Robinson’s 69 three-point goals
are second best in Clemson history by a junior.
•Vernon Hamilton had 68 steals,
second highest total in Clemson history, the
most ever by a sophomore. Only Chris
Whitney’s 73 steals in 1992-93 are higher. His
2.16 steals per game rank fourth best in
Clemson history.
•Cliff Hammonds had 60 three-point
goals for the year, second most by a Clemson
freshman. The record is 75 by Tony Stockman
in 2000-01.
•Hammonds had 43 steals, fifth most
by a Clemson freshman.
•Hammonds scord 338 points for the
season, the fourth highest single season total
for a Clemson freshman. The only freshmen
with higher totals were Skip Wise, Tony
Stockman and Terrell McIntyre.
Clemson’s 319 steals rank second
in school history for a season, as does the 9.97
per game.
•Clemson had 166 blocked shots,
seventh best total in Clemson history.
•Clemson made 198 three-point
goals, fifth most in a season in Clemson history.

•Sharrod Ford finished his Clemson
career 21st in Clemson history in career scoring
(1154), eighth in rebounding (762), fifth in
blocked shots (177), 12th in games started (87),
17th in minutes played (2823), 11th in games
played (118), 11th in field goal percentage
(.540), and ninth in double-doubles (21).
•Shawan Robinson is shooting .406
for his career on three-point attempts, sixth best
percentage in Clemson history. His 140 career
three-point goals rank sixth in Clemson history
and had 1.59 three-point goals per game stand
eighth in Clemson history.
•Vernon Hamilton is 12th in Clemson
history in steals with 118.
