Basketball Squads Announce 'Excitement Before the Battle'

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson head basketball coaches Larry Shyatt and Jim
Davis have announced Littlejohn Coliseum's version of Midnight Madness
"Excitement Before The Battle" will take place from 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm on
Friday, October 22, in Littlejohn Coliseum . Admission is free to this
basketball/football pep rally the night prior to the Clemson-Florida State
football game with doors opening at 8:30 pm.

"We felt it was advantageous to move this event to the night prior to
the football game due to Clemson University's Fall Break which begins on
October 15" said Shyatt. We wanted the students to be a part of this event
because of the support that they have given to both basketball programs
over the years. The timing of the Florida State football game just made it
a natural to have "Excitement Before The Battle" the night before the
football game. Coach Jim Davis said "the defending ACC Champion Lady Tiger
basketball team is anxious to be in front of the Clemson students and fans
as they go for a repeat of their ACC Championship".

Some of the featured events will be the introduction of current and
former players, videos of last year's teams, analysis of this year's ACC
races and a
half-court shooting contest to win basketball tickets. In addition, there
will be a drawing in which one Clemson student will be selected to be able
to run onto Frank Howard Field to remove the opening kickoff tee for the
Florida State football game. This historic kicking tee will symbolize the
first time in Division IA football that a father and son has coached
against each other.
