Clemson basketball signee Andre Young won the three-point shooting contest over the weekend at the Capital Classic in Washington, D.C. The 5'9" high school senior from the Deerfield-Windsor School in Albany, GA also competed in Sunday's featured game for the U.S. All-Star team along with fellow signee, Tanner Smith of Wesleyan High School in Norcross, GA.

Smith and Young helped the U.S. team to a resounding 123-85 victory over the Capital All-Stars in the Comcast Center at the University of Maryland. Young chipped in with six points, six assists, and four rebounds off the bench. He was 1-8 from the field, but made 4-4 from the free throw line. Smith did not score, but grabbed three rebounds and posted two assists and a steal in 13 minutes of action.

It marks the second straight year the Tiger basketball program has had two participants in the Capital Classic. Terrence Oglesby scored 20 points in the 2007 game and was named All-Tournament, while Jerai Grant had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
