CLEMSON -- Garrick Evans and Patrick Hogan were named this week's
Atlantic Coast Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week,
respectively, after leading the Tigers to three conference victories.
Evans, a designated hitter from Burke, Va., hit .562 (9-for-16) with
six RBI over the week, including a 6-for-8 performance in two starts
as the leadoff hitter versus Wake Forest. The sophomore hit four
doubles, a triple and walked four times for a .833 on-base percentage
against the Deacons.
Hogan, a right handed pitcher, entered the game at Wake Forest the
day after the series opener was suspended and pitched the final 6.0
innings without allowing a run. The junior out of Columbia, S.C.,
came in the game with Clemson trailing 2-1 and allowed only five hits
and no runs against the Deacs to earn the 6-2 victory.
