CLEMSON, SC - Khalil Greene has been named the 2002 National of Player of the Year by Collegiate Baseball, the publication announced Friday. He joins Kris Benson (1996) as the only Tigers so honored by the newspaper and he joins teammates Jeff Baker, Michael Johnson and Steve Reba as 2002 Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-Americans.

Greene, who was named ACC Player of the Year by the league's coaches on Monday, was also named the ACC Player of the Year and the first team Louisville Slugger All-American shortstop by Collegiate Baseball. The Key West, FL, native is currently batting .475 with 22 home runs and 75 RBIs with a 27-game hitting streak heading into the NCAA Tournament. He is second in NCAA history with 384 career hits and is Clemson's career record holder in hits, RBIs and games played.

Baker, who garnered first team All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball last season, was named a third-team third baseman. The junior from Woodbridge, VA is batting .338 with 22 home runs and 75 RBIs and was named to the All-ACC second team.
