by -

Clemson, SC -- Clemson Baseball Assistant Head Coach Tim Corbin was named one of four assistant coaches for the USA Collegiate National Team Tuesday. The team, headed by Southern California's Mike Gillespie, will play on the US WEST Red, White, and Blue Summer Tour in 2000.

Corbin, Clemson's recruiting coordinator, is in his seventh season as Head Coach Jack Leggett's top assistant. Corbin's 1999 recruiting class was ranked #1 in the nation by Baseball America and he is a major reason Clemson has won 288 games in his six seasons, fifth most in the country.

Corbin, 38 and a 1984 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan, joins Southern California pitching coach John Savage, Louisville Head Coach Lelo Prado, and Loyola Marymount Head Coach Frank Cruz on the USA National Team coaching staff.
