CLEMSON - Back in late Feb. Coastal Carolina lefty Jake Hurry baffled Clemson for seven innings in a 3-2 Chanticleers victory in Myrtle Beach.

Tuesday, the Tigers' offense disposed of Hurry in, well, a hurry.

Clemson scored nine runs off Hurry (4-2) inside the first three innings, rolling to a 14-5 win over No. 25 Coastal Carolina (21-5) at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The victory was Clemson's fourth straight, seventh in its last eight games and eighth in its last 10.

Tyler Colvin had a pair of two-run doubles in each of the first two innings to help the Tigers jump out to an 8-0 lead. Herman Demmink, Kris Harvey and Travis Storrer all added RBI doubles in the frame.

Taylor Harbin's sacrifice fly in the third drove in the ninth and final run charged to Hurry. Two innings later Harbin launched a long two-run homer to left-center that put the Tigers (13-9) ahead 11-0.

Freshman righthander David Kopp (2-2) won his second straight start. Kopp allowed just two runs in six innings, striking out five and walking just one.

He kept the Chanticleers off the board until the sixth, when Danny Morgan drove in two runs with a single. Kopp stayed away from further damage, ending the inning by inducing Michael DeJesus to ground into a double play.

Chris Fidrych pitched two innings and allowed three runs for the Tigers. Drew Fiorenza closed it out with a scoreless ninth.

The wrapup of the two-game series is set for 4 p.m. this afternoon. Clemson righty Jeff Hahn (0-1, 3.92) will face Costal Carolina's Ricky Shefka (4-0, 1.69).
