Clemson, SC -- Clemson pitchers Nick Glaser, Steven Jackson, Ryan
Childs and B.J. Lamura combined to shutout Wofford 6-0 Tuesday night
at Kingsmore Stadium. Clemson, ranked 12th in the nation by Baseball
Weekly, improved to 18-7 with the win. Wofford fell to 10-14 with
the loss. Clemson plays at Georgia Wednesday night at 6:30 PM.

Glaser, who had been out of action with a femur injury, was
making his first start and fifth appearance of the season. But, the
senior right-hander allowed just two hits, struck out four and walked
two in picking up his second win of the season. Jackson, who had a
6.75 ERA entering the game, struck out four and walked none in his
two scoreless innings of work.

Clemson was led at the plate by Jeff Baker, Michael Johnson
and Zane Green, who had two hits apiece. Catcher Steve Pyzik drove
in two runs.

Wofford was led by Strat Stavrou and Lawson Burnat, who had
two hits apece. Wofford had a hit in six of the last seven innings,
but could not score a run against the Clemson pitching staff that has
now allowed one run of less in three of the last four games.

Both teams started slowly on offense, as the game was played
in 30-degree temperatures. The teams combined for just one hit over
the first three innings. The Tigers manufactured a run in the third.
Zane Green, Clemson's number-eight man in the order, walked to lead
off the inning. He went to second on a wild pitch, to third on a
balk by Wofford starter and loser Blake Timanus and scored when Steve
Pyzik's ground ball was booted by shortstop Chad Livingston.

Clemson added a second run in the fourth on consecutive
singles by Jeff Baker, Michael Johnson and Ryan Riley.

The Tigers put the game out of reach in the bottom of the
seventh on three hits and two walks. Zane Green and Steve Pyzik had
back-to-back doubles to start the inning leading directly to
Clemson's third run of the evening. Pyzik later scored on a wild
pitch. Khalil Greene, who had walked, stole second, went to third on
a throwing error by the catcher and scored in a single by Baker.

The Tigers added a run in the bottom of the eighth on a home
run by Jarrod Schmidt, his sixth home run of the season.
