Clemson Announces 2004 Baseball Schedule
Schedule includes 14-game homestand and four games against South Carolina.
Clemson, SC - Thirty-two home games, 22 games against 2003 NCAA Tournament teams, and a tough non-conference schedule highlight Clemson's 56-game 2004 baseball schedule, released Friday.

The Tigers will open the season with a home game against Charlotte on Tuesday, February 24. That weekend, Clemson will then travel to Greenville, NC to play four games (two each against host East Carolina and Georgia Southern) in the first Keith LeClair Invitational. LeClair, who played under Clemson Head Coach Jack Leggett at Western Carolina and was the head coach at East Carolina, was stricken with Lou Gehrig's Disease three years ago, forcing him to give up coaching.

The following weekend, Clemson will travel to College of Charleston on Friday, March 5 to play former Tiger Pitching Coach and pitcher John Pawlowski on Leggett's 50th birthday. The following two days, the Tigers will play a home-and-home series with South Carolina in the first two of four meetings. The other two will take place at Clemson on April 7 and at South Carolina on April 14.

The next two weekends will see the Tigers play host to Auburn and play at Texas Tech in three-game series before starting the ACC season. Clemson made two trips to Auburn last season, once to open the season and once in the NCAA Regional. Other non-conference opponents include Gardner-Webb, Wofford, Coastal Carolina, Elon, Georgia, Winthrop, The Citadel, Western Carolina, Charleston Southern, and Furman.

The ACC regular-season schedule includes home series with Wake Forest, Maryland, N.C. State, and Florida State, and road series with Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Duke. From April 20 to May 12, Clemson will have a 14-game homestand, which includes series against N.C. State, Florida State, and Central Florida. The Tigers will close out the regular season with three-game series at Georgia Tech and at Duke.

The 2004 ACC Tournament will be held in Salem, VA for the second-straight year from May 25-30. Clemson has been to the NCAA Tournament for 17 straight years.
