Clemson, SC - Thirty-two home games, 30 games against 2002 NCAA Tournament teams, and an exhibition game against Chukyo University of Japan highlight Clemson's 56-game 2003 baseball schedule, released Monday.

The Tigers will open the season with a three-game set at Auburn from February 21-23. Clemson last traveled to Auburn in 1992, where Clemson came away with two wins in two games. Clemson has won 12 of the last 13 meetings with Auburn dating back to 1989. Clemson will also face SEC foes South Carolina four times and Georgia twice. The Gamecocks will travel to Tigertown on March 1 and April 9, while Clemson will play in Columbia on March 2 and April 2.

Clemson has home weekend series against Old Dominion and Maine, and will travel to Statesboro, GA for a three-game set with Georgia Southern from March 14-16. The Tigers downed Georgia Southern 15-1 in the 2002 NCAA Clemson Regional last year and twice more during the 2002 regular season. The Tigers will also play host to two-game, weekday series against Tennessee Tech and Coastal Carolina, and will play home-and-home series with College of Charleston and Furman.

The Tigers' ACC schedule will begin at N.C. State from March 28-30. After a home series against Virginia, Clemson will go on the road on back-to-back weekends to Florida State and Maryland in April. Then, Clemson will be at home for a 12-game homestand, which includes series with Georgia Tech, Duke, and North Carolina. Clemson will conclude its regular season at Wake Forest from May 15-17.

The 2003 ACC Tournament will be held in Salem, VA from May 20-25. It will be the first time the ACC Tournament will be held in the state of Virginia.

Clemson, who has been to the NCAA Tournament for 16 straight years and won at least 40 games for 17 straight years, finished third in the nation last year and #1 in the RPI. The ACC was also the RPI's #1-rated conference.
