CLEMSON, SC -- Clemson senior righthander Scott Berney (Hamden, CT) was named ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week Monday along with Florida State righthander Jon McDonald. Berney, a transfer from the University of Connecticut, pitched 8.0 scoreless innings against James Madison on Feb. 25 in earning his third victory in as many outings. He allowed just six hits and one walk while striking out four Dukes. Berney ran his scoreless inning streak to 22 in the game against James Madison. Berney pitched 7.0 scoreless innings against both #4 Miami (FL) and Old Dominion in his other starts. Berney has allowed 12 hits, no runs, one walk, and a .156 opponent batting average while striking out 15 in 22.0 innings pitched in 2000.
