CLEMSON, S.C.- Clemson second baseman Kurt Bultmann went 4-for-5 with two home runs and a double as he led Clemson past Winthrop 14-2 in college baseball action on Friday night at Tiger Field.

Clemson improves to 31-18, while Winthrop falls to 32-15. Clemson starter Steve Reba (4-3) worked the longest he has all year in earning the win. Reba, a freshman, pitched six shutout innings allowing only six hits. Winthrop starter David Steffler (8-2) took the loss.

Bultmann, a senior, had a career night as he hit a solo home run in his first at bat of the game to get the scoring started for Clemson in the first inning. In his second at bat, the Seminole, FL native delivered an RBI single in the second inning. It was one of four RBIs on the night for Bultmann who also scored three runs.

Bultmann became only the third player in Clemson history and 10th player in ACC history to record 200 runs and 200 RBIs in a career when he hit a two-run homer to left field in the fourth inning. The home run was Bultmann's 40th of his career and made him only the fifth player in Tiger history to hit 40 or more home runs.

In the sixth inning, Bultmann hit the 81st double of his career. He is already the Clemson record holder for career doubles and is two shy of breaking Jason Varitek's ACC record for career doubles.

Other notable players for Clemson included Henr Stanley and Jason Harris. Stanley extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the second inning. Harris followed Bultmann with a solo home run in the first inning. It was Harris' eighth home run of the year.

Winthrop was able to break up the Clemson shutout effort in the eighth inning when Jason Tarasuik scored on a single by Luc Riopel. The Eagles added one run in the ninth to make the final score 14-2.

Clemson will host Coastal Carolina on Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. at Tiger Field.
