2002 All-ACC Baseball Team Announced

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - Khalil Greene, Michael Johnson and Steve Reba were named to the 2002 All-ACC first team while Jeff Baker, Matt Henrie and Russell Triplett garnered second team honors, the conference announced on Saturday. Cemson had the second most selections behind Florida State, which landed seven players on one of the two All-ACC teams. The All-ACC teams are selected by a vote of the league's nine coaches.

Greene, a senior from Key West, FL, leads Clemson with a .475 batting average, 113 hits and a .866 slugging percentage. He holds ACC career records for hits and doubles and has the second most hits in NCAA history. Greene is tied for the team lead with 22 home runs and 75 RBIs and is a leading candidtate fo ACC Players of the Year, which will be announced on Monday along with Rookie and Coach of the Year awards.

Johnson, a junior first baseman from Georgetown, SC, is batting .380 with 19 home runs and 68 RBIs. Heading into the ACC Championship game against Florida State, Johnson leads the team with a .562 batting average and eight RBIs in tournament play.

Reba, a senior righthander from Fort Wayne, IN, is 12-2 with a 3.83 ERA. Clemson's fourth most-winningest pitcher tossed his team to an opening round victory over fifth seed Georgia Tech on Wednesday.

Baker, a junior third baseman from Woodbridge, VA, is hitting .339 with 22 home runs and 75 RBIs. His two-run homer in the seventh inning produced the game-winning runs in the Tigers' 8-6 win over second seed Wake Forest on Saturday.

Henrie, a junior righthander from Naples, FL, leads Clemson with a 3.24 ERA while compiling a 10-4 record. His career 2.45 strikeout-to-walk ratio entering the ACC Tournament is the eighth best in school history.

Triplett, a sophomore infielder from West Columbia, SC, made the second team as a utility player. He is batting .309 with 15 RBIs in 51 games, including 36 starts.

The 2002 ACC Player, Rookie and Coach of the Year will be released on Monday, May 27.
