Recruits predict Clemson's big game at Texas A&M

by - Staff Writer -

Many recruits dream of playing in primetime matchups in front of 102,000 fans and with ESPN GameDay on hand, and with Clemson and Texas A&M squaring off Saturday night all eyes will be on College Station.

How will Clemson’s offense respond to the noise of a hostile crowd? Can Clemson’s defense live up to the expectations placed upon them by fans and the media?

Recruits from around the country weigh in on how they think Saturday’s ACC-SEC matchup will unfold.

Clemson offensive line commit Hunter Rayburn said he thinks the game will be won in the trenches.

“Just offensively being able to control the line of scrimmage. If you can control the line of scrimmage it opens up the rest of your offense,” Rayburn told TigerNet Thursday evening. “If Clemson controls the line of scrimmage offensively, their offense opens up. If Clemson controls the line of scrimmage defensively, A&M's offense never gets going. Just making A&M one-dimensional is the key for Clemson on defense. Being able to run the ball is huge on offense.”

2019 TE commit Jaelyn Lay: “Clemson of course.”

2019 LB commit Bryton Constantin: “Well, obviously Clemson is going to win. I think they will win 35-21. The key is for them to keep their composure in that loud stadium and realize that they are No. 2 in the country for a reason.”

2020 LB commit Sergio Allen: “I think Clemson is for sure going to come out on top. Clemson’s defense will be too much to handle and their offense will put the game away. Clemson 28-7.”

2019 LB commit Vonta Bentley: “I think the score will be 34-17, Clemson.”

2019 OL target Cooper Dawson: “Myles Garrett would be the only thing close that could handle Clemson’s offense, and Clemson’s defense doesn’t need to be hyped up anymore; everyone knows what’s up. 28-6, Clemson.”

2019 WR commit Frank Ladson: “Clemson dominates and wins 38-14.”

2019 P commit Aidan Swanson: “34-10 Clemson. Not even close the entire game.”

2019 LB commit Keith Maguire: “I think Clemson will win and that the defense will shut them down. Final score: 28-7”

2019 DB commit Sheridan Jones: “Clemson is going to finish on top for sure. They just have to keep the energy alive on the road because it’s different with away games. 34-7.”

2019 QB commit Taisun Phommachanh: “I think Clemson will win 34-13.”

2019 WR commit Joseph Ngata: “Clemson 48-14. The run game will be dominant along with the passing game. Texas A&M won’t be able to block up front, but they’ve got some dudes at receiver.”

2019 LB commit Greg Williams: “Clemson is going to win and I think the Texas A&M quarterback will try to make some plays, so I say 35-21 Clemson.”
