late Monday evening, and it still appears that Crowder is favoring Clemson despite a late push by Oregon.

Charles McManus, Crowder’s older brother, has been handling much of the 4-star prospect out of Rockingham (NC) Richmond County, and he said Tuesday night that it has been fairly quiet as far as recruiting has been concerned.

“There is really nothing new,” McManus said. “Oregon made a little push when they reached out to us, but I don’t think it was really anything more than a push, especially with us being so close to signing day.”

Crowder is listed by ESPN as the No. 5 offensive guard in the nation, the No. 3 player in the state of North Carolina and is ranked at No. 125 in the ESPN Top 150.

He recently narrowed his college choices down to Clemson and Georgia, and was at Clemson for an official visit 10 days ago with his family. Crowder was supposed to take a final visit to Georgia, but his brother said they won’t be making that trip.

“If I could make the trip with him, he would go,” McManus said. “But I can’t make the trip because I am the sole Human Resources manager at my company, and I can’t miss that much work. He has been to Georgia once or twice, though, so he has had his opportunity to see it.”

McManus said that there are still a few other schools trying to contact Crowder – who will announce his decision from the ESPN studios on Charlotte on February 6th – but Clemson is still the school that is out front for Crowder’s services.

“UNC stopped after he told them that they were not in the running anymore,” he said. “He still gets a call a week or some form of communication from other schools, and he is still getting letters. But Clemson has been the most consistent of the bunch. But it is still Clemson and Georgia, and Clemson has a pretty good lead in my mind.”
