Josh Belk on 2018 class: "It's gonna be crazy"

Belk is rated a 4-star and No. 88 player in the country according to ESPN.

2018 defensive tackle commit Josh Belk was recently on campus for a visit to Clemson's spring game and came away knowing his decision to commit to the Tigers in late January was the right one for him and his family.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive tackle out of Richburg, South Carolina (Lewisville) discussed his visit; what he enjoyed, and how good of a recruiting class he hears this 2018 class could be for Dabo Swinney and his coaching staff.

Belk told TigerNet he was eager to get back on campus for Clemson's spring game.

"I loved it. Just like the first time I was there, nothing has changed," Belk said. "The (football ops) facility is crazy. It's a place to bring people together, and something for the players to do outside of football, a place to relax."

There was a sense of excitement in Belk's voice when speaking to the talented defensive tackle about the Clemson campus, and what the future holds for the Tigers football program.

"It's happy and genuine," Belk said. "No room to be sad, the people around are uplifting. It's just a great feeling."

Belk also couldn't hold back his excitement when asked about the recruiting class the Tigers are putting together for the 2018 season.

"[Laughing] It's gonna be crazy. WE2DEEP18. We can help each other, learn a lot from one another, and work together."

Belk is also trying to add to the list of talent players already committed to the Tigers.

"The 2018 commits have a group chat that I'm in, trying to get more recruits," Belk said. "Justyn Ross is a big one."

Current Clemson defensive tackles Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence have set the bar high at the defensive tackle position leading the Clemson defense to being eighth nationally in total defense last season, and Belk believes his work ethic can match that of his future teammates,

"My work ethic is good and when I feel like I want to stop, I think of my future and just keep pushing," Belk said. "Anything I have to do to be successful. I'm ALL IN."

Belk will look to continue Clemson's trend of young impact players on the defensive line, and it should not surprise anyone to see him be another playmaker on the defensive side of the ball for years to come.
