Played three years of football at Daniel High School before transferring to Dorman High in Spartanburg for his senior year…had outstanding season as the Dorman quarterback, led that team to a 12-3 record and a spot in the semifinals of the state playoffs…finished with 2,993 yards of total offense in 2017, he had 1,792 passing and 1,201 rushing…completed 134 of 228 passes for 1,792 yards and 13 touchdowns against just four interceptions…had his top passing game in a loss, he completed 24 of 30 passes for 342 yards against Northwestern…had 152 rushes for 1,201 yards and 13 touchdowns…averaged eight yards per carry… he had 13 passing scores and 13 rushing scores…averaged 200 yards a game in terms of total offense… had five games in which he had at least 100 yards rushing…had career high 156 yards rushing in a win over Byrnes and a win over Mauldin…had four rushing scores against Mauldin…led Dorman to a No. 5 final ranking in the state…played the 2017 season for David Gutshall…starting quarterback at Daniel High School in 2014, 2015 and 2016….preferred walk-on who is son of Clemson strength and conditioning coach Joey Batson….his brother Michael is a punter on the Clemson team.
