A USA Today honorable mention All-American...a preseason All-American for 1992 according to SuperPrep and Max Emfinger...ranked as the number-one running back in Georgia by J.W. Lyon Prep Football Report and as the 20th best tailback in the nation by Max Emfinger...ranked as the 32nd-best player in Dixie region by SuperPrep...rushed for 3695 yards over three years at Marietta High School, where he was named a permanent team captain...gained 704 yards and scored 14 touchdowns in 1992, despite playing only six games due to a knee injury...named the area's Player-of-the-Week three times in 1992...gained 1780 yards on 222 attempts during his junior campaign and rushed for 34 touchdowns...added 376 yards and three touchdowns on 26 receptions...also returned kickoffs as a junior, five were for touchdowns and two came in one game...had 1,644 total yards and 23 touchdowns as a sophomore, he gained 1,211 yards on the ground...named his team's MVP...a first-team all-state choice in 1991 and 1992 and named the County's best offensive player in 1991...a first-team all-county selection in 1992...led the state of Georgia in scoring in 1991 with 38 touchdowns...helped lead Coach Dexter Wood's team to a 36-3-1 record over his three years...a two-time state champion in the long jump, he won the national AAU title in that event in 1991, while placing second nationally in the triple jump.
