So given that ONE of our kickers this year has been great, WHY would our coaches declare a moratorium on kicking scholarships? WHY wouldn't they find a scholarship for the highly rated K/P they have on the board right now instead of telling him to come at his own expense?

Few give sholarsips up front because there is usually a couple of walkons who can do it. winner gets the sholarship.

The article says that "opponents have just 75 total punt returns against Zimmerman’s 42 punts". But I assume that it was supposed to say 75 punt return yards against 42 punts.

Interestingly, he's only ranked 28th in average yards per punt, but I guess that may be an irrelevant stat if you're often intentionally punting a short distances.
