Hard Work Paying Off for Richard Jackson

It hasn’t been easy for Clemson placekicker Richard Jackson since arriving at Clemson. He even thought about transferring. Full Story »

Glad to see RJ is "all in" (even if it's taken 3 years).

Sometime if Clemson is way ahead in a safe game and Clemson stalls at midfield, Dabo should let Jackson try to set the school record with a no-pressure 58+ yarder to build his confidence and reward him for his comeback/work.

I know that there would have been potential sportsmanship concerns if Dabo had let Jackson kick a 6th field goal at the end of the BC game, but I wish that he would have let Jackson do it. Dabo could have simply told coach Spaz that he wanted to reward his kicker and give him the chance to set a record, I'm sure that Spaz would have understood. Heck last year, Dabo put Harper and Kelly on the field (after Korn was already in on mop-up duty) so that Kelly could break the ACC receptions record. And then Dabo called a time-out so that they could celebrate setting the record. Taht wasn't ideal sportsmanship toward the other team, but I'm sure everybody understood.

Jackson tied the record with six, could have set it with 7***

PK since Nelson Welch.

Guys like;David Threadwell,Chris Gardocki,Nelson Welch,
Donald Ikewabeki,Obedi Arrari.
Yeah,I probably misspelled some of those names. But
think about how many games were probably lost by Clemson in the last several years because they didn't have a
good kicker.
