Ticket Scammer Info List

LATEST SCAM TACTIC

They will send you a check which will seem to "clear", but after a few days or a week, it will end up bouncing. They may ask you to send them money back via venmo or other method, giving some sob story of a reason. For example, they buy 4 tickets, send you the money, then say I only need 2, please send the difference back.

Look out for weird email addresses or mismatched email addresses (2 with different names). Many times they use a name followed by some random numbers for their emails. They often use odd words like dear and kindly. Always feel free to contact us if you are suspicious and we can assist.

99% of ticket transactions happen without issue, but every year scams happen. If you are a scammer, be advised that we work with law enforcement and have helped in convicting scammers in the past.

In the hopes of helping people avoid scammers, here is a list of names and emails that scammers have used. Most of the time these people do not have a TigerNet account, but please contact us if you encounter one of these.

$JMSellers10 (cash app), $CynthiaNobles (cash app), venmo last 4 digits: 9511, venmo: Jacoblyle91, google pay: Chris Kaye, last 4 digits 9511

We will also provide info on how they are asking to be paid and some of their persuasion techniques.

************************

"They send a check of a much bigger amount and ask for you to return the difference"

"He has screenshots of someone's renewals listing tickets and parking and he has the IPTAY account number and personal info to go along with it."

"He was really elaborate saying his daughter was in the band, talking about campus etc."

"I sent them $450 in ApplePay"

"paid by venmo" (probably without purchase protection)

"He accepts Google Pay & Zelle"
************************

NOTE: DO NOT PAY WITH GREENDOT! We recommend PayPal "Purchase", NOT PayPal friends and family or Venmo WITH purchase protection. These cost 3% in fees but protect both the buyer and the seller in case of a dispute. Also, beware of people selling tickets that claim to have just "relocated" and need you to use a money order via Western Union or other service. Lately people have also asked for 50% up front via PayPal saying PayPal has buyer protection, which it doesn't in this case. Also do not pay via Amazon Gift Cards. Most likely it is a scam, even if they sound VERY convincing.

Here is some info on disputing payments with Google Pay

Tigernet needs to have a message board list of confirmed scammers!

I buy and sell on Tigernet.
I get a physical mailing address, phone number and email from legit buyers and sellers.
I also talk to buyers or sellers to see if they seem legitimate. Asking graduation year, major, connection to Clemson.
Normally, I get a check and make sure it clears before exchanging.
Don’t just do digital transactions.

For the (2017) National Championship in Tampa, the people in line in front of us bought their ‘digital printed’ tickets on e-bay for $2500 each ($5000) and found out they were PDF copies of legitimate tickets ?. They lost their money using PayPal.

Let the scammers use other formats to buy and sell tickets, we need to keep Tigernet for real Clemson people.
We need to support and help to catch and prosecute any scammers on Tigernet!
Make Tigernet a dangerous place for scammers! IPTAY needs to support as well!
Don’t try to get the highest price, or cheapest tickets on Tigernet, be reasonable and fair with other Clemson fans…..

Go Tigers, keep Death Valley games special…..

It’s sad that people try to scam others. Especially if it one Clemson trying to scam other Clemson fans.

IMO social is now doing more harm than it is for positive applications.

God Bless all honest dedicated Clemson Fans. And God will bring his justice back to the scammers.

There is a scam going around where pretend police call you about a legal matter. They eventually get around to asking that you post bail over the phone to keep from being arrested that day. Tell them you will waiting for them at your front with another police officer or call the warrants office. They will help you to.

May God keep you all safe. Since Covid the world has changed in a very negative way.

A good rule of thumb: never, ever, ever buy tickets from some random person on the internet. That goes for sporting events, concerts, etc.

Buy from friends/friends of friends or “reputable” secondary ticket outlet.

Just a coincidence that we both put reputable in quotes. But, here is an example: the cheapest ticket on stubhub for the Clemson ND game is $259 + 69.54 in fees; that’s 27%. That’s not insurance it’s extortion.

StubHub and Ticketmaster aren't a one man show working from home

While I agree with your first statement that these significant premiums give more opportunity to scammers, StubHub and Ticketmaster are employing a lot of people to do the work for us in preventing bad faith sellers and buyers. I'm sure the scammers are trying to pull things over on them as well.

At the first national championship game in Arizona, StubHub had rented out a large space in the hotel nearby, offered us complimentary drinks while we waited in line to buy tickets, and then chased us down as we were headed to the stadium to let us know the tickets we purchased had just been purchased seconds earlier by someone else and were no longer valid - they walked us back to their setup, upgraded us to amazing seats at no additional charge, and we were on our way to 40yd line seats about ten rows up from the field after paying upper deck prices.

25-30% premiums may seem obscene, but you also have a peace of mind from the time you purchase to the time you enter the stadium. Everyone is different in whether that is worth it, but there's a reason no other company has come along and offered a 10% premium to compete for their market share.

Don't buy tickets from anyone that you're not meeting face to face with, and they have a valid drivers license, and take a phone photo of them, and if they don't agree to the conditions, you're about to get ripped off. And there is still a chance of being ripped off even when they agree to the conditions bc they know that law enforcement won't be putting them at the top of their list to catch, and prosecute them!!!

Everybody loves the electronic ways of doing things bc of the time saved, and the convenience of doing business online, but it is also the #1 partner in crime for a filthy low bred thieves that spend their every awakened minute in search of ways to steal from honest unsuspecting people online like you that still believe in people doing the right thing like you would do. Hello, cyber criminals are searching, and waiting for you to raise your hand stating you are looking for tickets to what ever, and they set the hook!!! Just saying that there are crooks searching for YOU to raise your hand online in Google search, or what ever search engine you're using.

The sad part is this, these cyber crooks went to college, or a tech school to learn all the ways of the computer, the in's the out's just to become a cyber criminal, bc less than 20% of the cyber criminals are caught and prosecuted!!!!

Sounds suspect to me. Also, I've seen some very good fake photos of passes, tickets, etc, so I would not accept that of proof. If you stick to using payment sources that have buyer protection (which scammers won't accept), then you should be good to go, or if someone is a multi-year premium tigernet member.

"Chris Kaye" attempted to scam me last week for LA Tech game tickets. Claiming I needed to use Google Pay, then begging me to use Cash App. Then wanting me to go to Walmart or CVS to send money via Green Dot. Then he wanted me to venmo to his "son in law" Jacob Lyle. I didn't have a good feeling about it and was able to stop the venmo transaction. Then he begged me to send him a check and I told him not until I made sure the venmo deal was shut down (which thankfully it was) and then I felt so weird about it by then I ignored him. I noticed all his posts on Tiger Net were down (he had 3 or 4). He texted me 2 more times and I just ignored. A girl sent a message to us last night on instagram (she had seen the venmo transaction) asking if we ever received tickets bc this "Jacob Lyle" person stole her money. His story changed multiple times throughout our text exchange. He was switching names.
The names and numbers he used were:
-Chris Kaye<
-Jacob Lyle-843-892-0730
-$JMSellers10 (cash app) (he REALLY wanted me to use this one)
-venmo last 4 digits: 9511
-venmo: Jacoblyle91
-google pay: Chris Kaye, last 4 digits 9511 (which he also used for venmo even though he said "Jacob Lyle" is is son in law so should have been a different number.
-gave the name "Dana" as a reference and a number of 864-403-3226 so I could "ask" about sending the cash via Walmart or cvs.

Thankful I had a bad feeling and so so sorry to all those that he stole from. I hope he gets caught.

Another big time scammer is Dwyane Potts. Last year he got at least 25 different fans for a total of over $25,000. We put together a group (Scammer to the Slammer) and eventually he was arrested. He is presently residing at the orange jump suit inn in Florence and has 3 other jurisdictions waiting to get ahold of him. You can nail these scum if you work at it.

Fact!!!! I put one in prison in GA for scamming millions from people. Made it my mission to get him convicted. He has 12 felony convictions, more charges pending in two states and is serving 20 years in the GA penitentiary in Hall County now. Satisfying watching them take him from the court room when sentenced!!! Put these low lifes in prison!!!

From time to time, I need more tickets and normally buy them on TNet. Last year, I needed 4 tickets fors game kast year instead of 2, so I bought 4 together from a TNet seller. I met the seller, to pay cash and get the electronic tickets. While sitting there, he sent me a text with the electromic tickets, I opened my ticketmaster account and verified I had the tickets and he got the cash. No problems.

Although, I did ask several questions before we proceeded and just in case it was a scam or robbery, he was being watched. Also, his license plate and car description was noted.

Not everyone is bad but always be cautious and safe whether face-to-face or electronically.

I was attempting to sell season tickets and got a response from Dana James (danajames738@gmail.com). They initially agreed to pay half now and half later, but once the check was in the mail, they said they trusted me and so paid in full. Plus, they said they sent almost $3k extra and wanted me to PayPal someone else (Jason) the excess to cover the cost of the parking pass they were buying. Once the check actually showed up, it was "from" Prudential Retirement Services and was clearly fake. I did a quick check on this list and found that the phone number they were texting from (615-492-0645) was already on the list of potentials. Thanks for consolidating and good luck to everyone trying to avoid these scum.

It appears Rafael Osuna, using the gmail address of ceocityairexperts, is following the same scheme mentioned above - check for more than advertised and need to send extra money to Jason for parking passes using PayPal. The check arrives from a corporation that is different, signed by another person, and from a different state! If you go to City Air Experts in Charlotte they have a really nice web site. However, the address on google maps looks like a lot with a lot of trees - no building and no place to park all their service vans.
I have successfully sold tickets on Tigernet previously with no issues. Thanks to Tigernet for alerting me to this before I cashed the check.

"I sent them $450 in ApplePay"

"paid by venmo" (probably without purchase protection)

"He accepts Google Pay & Zelle"

I found her on FB and it looks like she is possibly in Summerville. I contacted Summerville PD on their tip line. I also contacted Clemson PD, who told me to call the ticket office on Monday. The tickets she was “selling” were 8 tickets in section 8, rows S and T along with a parking pass for lot 5. Beware!!! I can’t believe she is still able to do this after so many years. There is a guy who just joined in 2023 advertising for two spaces in lot 25 for the upcoming season…his TigerNet user name and email address are SiegeDaniel and siegeltawneypg3800 and yet he says his name is Andrew Pyle and he is associate faculty with UMICH at the moment and won’t be back to Clemson for a while. He says Siege is his nickname and Daniel is his middle name. He has been a fan all his life. Wants to be paid by Venmo, but the Venmo is his “God daughter’s” account. He has a Chicago area phone #. And he was very willing to negotiate the price on two spaces in lot 25 when I have seen higher amounts last year being asked by legitimate sellers for one. When he said he was going to give me the goddaughter’s Venmo this morning, that was the last red flag and I decided to walk away. Any way to verify this guy? There is an Andrew Pyle listed as faculty at Clemson in the communications department and I emailed the professor’s Clemson address, but haven’t hear back.

Same deal. Paid in full, no questions. Check written on Vanguard/Mellon Bank (NY) account. Not sure the angle. She said in email that she lives in SC. I deposited check thinking if it doesn't clear I won't send tickets. I don't have them yet anyway. I had a feeling it was a scam, but asked bank to verify. Since there isn't a Mellon Bank in my area, my bank said I could deposit check and wait for it to clear. I mentioned in email response to barb, "all sales are final", so will be curious if I get a different response. [It did. Received a nasty gram wanting half back immediately.]

UPDATE: SCAM! Check cleared thru bank, but next day funds reversed. I hadn't sent any tickets or money, so only out the aggravation/time. Reported incident to bank and they will investigate. I highly recommend taking the extra step to report the scam.

If you think you've been the victim of a counterfeit check scam, you can report it to several agencies, including:

Federal Trade Commission (FTC): You can report counterfeit checks online at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or by calling 1-877-FTC-HELP or 1-877-ID-THEFT

U.S. Postal Inspection Service: If you received the check in the mail, you can report it online at uspis.gov

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): If you think the scam involved online crimes, you can file a complaint online at ic3.gov

State or local consumer protection agencies: You can find a list of state Attorneys General at NAAG.org

Local police: You can file a report with your local police

She is writing bad checks and then after they are deposited wanting you to send good money back to her. After a few days your check will clear but the one that you deposited from her will bounce and you'll be out the money.

Need to report whatever info you have to the police. Especially since it seems as though there are multiple Clemson people getting hit up. If no one reports "her", "she" will keep doing it until someone in the Clemson community gets taken for a ride.

I actually have interacted with this one.

Long story, buckle in:

"Jeff" reaches out via email and says that he would like to buy my tickets and will send a check.
Check shows up and deposits into my account. Funds show as available.
So, I send the tickets and he accepts them.

Later that day, I get a message with a story that "Jeff" has gotten a call from his twin brother who was going to sit with him in one of the seats but has already bought other ticket. Now he only needs one of the two tickets I sold and "kindly" asks me to return some of the money back to him via Zelle or Paypal. But not to his account, to his daughters accounts as he is with her in Durham, NC.

I tell him that I can't sell a single season ticket and he should keep them since he has already paid and the funds are in my account.

He responds immediately and says that he would just like to return the tickets all together and as a "thank you" "for my inconvenience," I can keep some of the money. I think this is a pretty good deal and ask for his Zelle information.

He sends the tickets back, I receive them and go to my bank account to transfer the money.

Something doesn't feel quite right. I have my tickets back but I still didn't feel quite right.

I do a quick google search on the phone number and email address and it led me here. Both the email address and phone number were on this page.

I send him a message and tell him that I suspect that he is a scammer. Lots of back and forth ensue all via text message. Tried to call him, call declined. He texts right away and says he is "hearing impaired" and can't answer the phone. He swears it was an honest mistake that was made 2 years ago to land him on this list. Then the story changes and now he was hacked 2 years ago.

Just this morning, he said that if I don't Zelle him the funds, he will send "assassins to my house to deal with me." Received a call from his "son" saying (in very broken English) that I am trying to take advantage of an old man and I will see what happens.

I talked with my bank. They said the check looks counterfeit. Had the funds withdrawn and returned to where ever they came from. Bank says that it would have. Reported it to the authorities.

Luckily, I still have my tickets and I didn't send any money but this has been a bit of an ordeal.

Mikala Smith is still out there trying to get money from people. Working with the same Jeff Guidry account. Definitely do not send money to these people.

Erik Ivory is also a name to watch out for. He's taking member's assignment pictures and passing them off for his own while selling for a "business partner" or his "Dad".

I too have just experienced Jeff Susiie (Guidry), Mikala Smith, and the father is using the name Alex Fergie...email address: fergusonernie9@gmail.com. Says he lives at Kiawah Island.

He's trying to sell Parking passes in Lot 3 spaces 326-327-328. He also had tickets in SEC:T Row:SS

He couldn't or wouldn't ever produce a picture of the parking passes. Kept talking about trust.

I don't see his posting on TigerNet anymore, but I did see a new posting with a new member that has 2 parking passes in Lot 3 and tickets in Sec:T Row:SS.

Beware!

UGA went to digital tickets 3 yrs ago effectively eliminating scalpers. Once you receive your tickets you are only allowed to transfer them once. So if I sell to you, you cannot transfer to another.

A user with this phone number - 757-398-0883 - tried to scam me this morning for Stanford tickets. He was selling 5 tickets in Section N, Row Y. He even sent me a screenshot of one of the tickets.

Stay vigilent!
