Report: Sammy Watkins signs with new NFL team
A 'WRU' member has a new home. Former Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins is reportedly signing a one-year deal worth $6 million including $5 million guaranteed. The 27-year-old playmaker should be fun to watch with Lamar Jackson throwing the football to him. In 2020, Watkins had 37 receptions for 421 ya (Photo: Robert Deutch / USATODAY) Read Update » |

on this team. Should be fun to watch with the way Levar can scramble and throw on the run.
But, I remember years ago, Andruw Jones of the Braves saying he "couldn't feed his family on $13 million a year". How will Sammy be able to scrape by on only $6 measly million? Inflation has gotten higher since Andruw's playing days with the Braves.

the biggest contracts to be happy, that he makes more than enough money.
I get the impression Sammy is very good, very frugal with his money and is tucking it away and will be just fine when he retires.

Good for Sammy, but seriously, isn't that a ludicrous amount to pay for a part time employee? By the way, I still think Sammy is probably the most talented wide receiver Clemson ever had.

Nuk was the best. Coaches did not know it.

That's kind of silly

Sammy could contribute in a lot of ways in the college game. He was more explosive and more versatile. Much of that didn't translate to the NFL though and Nuk was/is the better pure receiver.

WRU! NUK was always the slower on the field, compared wit Sammy and Martavis Bryant. Sammy always had the potential, but leg injuries keep him on the sideline too often in the pros. When healthy, Sammy can still dominate a pro game! NUK was about the same speed as Adam Humphries, with GREAT hands and jumping ability. In the pros, same thing. Bryant and Watkins are faster and more talented. NUK always tried harder, and made the tough contested catches, just like the Hail Mary last season. Hopefully, Bryant works out his career in Canada, and joins DW4 in Houston.

Sammy, along with Keith Williams, will hopefully make a difference for the Ravens. There's video out of Keith working with Sammy, from the past. Pretty good video . . hope the magic is still there.

There are the stories of those who had exceptional potential but for injury or other circumstances, don't turn out to be the marquee name they or fans had anticipated. It's hard because you know what's under the hood. Every so often, a guy like this finds himself amidst a "magical" season. We know Sammy is magical. I'd love to see him get the stage he deserves!

I wish Sammy all the best, will always cheer for him. But Lamar Jackson - I haven't ever and will never care for.

Lamar really is a nice kid. He's so genuine. I didn't think he was . . .but he truly is.
