Road dogs: Clemson players love being underdogs on LSU's home turf

Xavier Thomas loves the fact that Clemson will be playing for a National Championship Monday as what he calls “road dogs”, a term of endearment that defensive coordinator Brent Venables uses to describe his group’s mentality in a hostile environment. And make no mistake about it, the Superdome will be a hostile environment for the underdogs. Full Story »

We'll obviously be outnumbered, but will have lots of orange

I'm guessing 30% to 35% of crowd will be Clemson

It comes down to defense, our offensive line and no turnovers. We can't start out like we did against OSU on offense and put our defense in a hole to start the game . We have to control the line of scrimmage and open holes for Etienne and Trevor. They are looking at turnovers so we can't give them that advantage. GO CLEMSON TIGERS ! Prove all the doubters WRONG !

Whatever you guys have to say, just know that it's only you that will be on the field to back it up, so be careful of what you say, and don't give the home team no extra energy. Just go out there and punch them in the mouth from the first to the last snap of the game and you will be OK, and the best team usually wins these type of games. We you hear the crowd screaming Go Tigers, they are talking to you bc you are the Tigers!!!

Stifle their offense, and get them down quick. That's the best way to keep their fans quiet! There is nothing more solemn than a stadium full of fans with nothing to cheer about! (We know from experience. Thank goodness not lately!)
