UT is 4 hours ahead of eastern time zone. Example right now it is 10:08 pm. That would make it 2:08 am.

I assume you can figure out military time (24 hour clock versus am and pm)

So according to your chart the eclipse will begin at 1:10 pm in your area and end at 4:03 pm

I knew it was supposed to start aroun 1:00 PM and go for a few hours, with totality being 2:45-3:05ish and last for about 1-2 minutes. This chart kinda gave me pause because it didn't match military time.

Thanks

We're 5 hourse behind Greenwich Mean Time

Aug 21, 2017, 12:41 AM

The British came up with the standard time (along with precise time pieces) primarily to allow their navy to know what longitude they were located at. (Latitude is easy because you can use the sun's height to know that.)

Since the Limies invented it, they chose London to be "The center of the world" or Time 0.
