Coach V not happy today

It was probably just a bad day for the defense, not much to read into.

from reading the articles about the scrimmage it sounds like the Defense got ran over, around, and just generally manhandled. I don't get the sense that Coach V is one to manufacture motivation. He calls it like it is with no sugar coating. He said that they held some starters out and that the backups didn't step up when they had the chance. I got the impression that he means that the 2nd and 3rd string players aren't where he would like them to be or where we need them to be from a toughness stand point.

I do think that he will be motivating them to be tougher both mentally and physically because of this. His desire to win every part of every play no matter whether it is a scrimmage or a live game and his ability to transfer that desire to his players is what makes him a world-class coach and our players into the great defense that we have had since he got here.
