Looking at the Coot schedule.

Aug 12, 2017, 6:23 PM

Any chance they win 6 games? There over under is 5.5? I would bet the under if I bet it all, but what do you guys honestly think looking at their schedule. A 100 dollar bet on the under pays 125.

Missouri Kentucky Wofford Ltech are winnable right? Maybe even NCSU? How about Vandy? Just seems like they max out at 6 games though and that 5 is more likely, but I am biased.

They'll win at least 6.

Aug 12, 2017, 6:36 PM

The SEC East is still horrible. And their d has to improve. It can't get any worse.

5.5 is so low. I'd have to go over. Now setting it at 6.5 would make me think.

I think they lose to Arkanasas at home. You got them winning

Arky appears to be heading downhill IMO. They have been decent in November it seems, and their QB isn't bad, but their Defense is soft and their running game softer.

USuCk's weak schedule, plus the SEC BS, will inflate their value heading into next year, when they add some weight to the schedule from the SEC West...and then, that plus Muschumps crappy coaching and player development, will start the downward 2-3 year spiral....

The Coot schedule.....

They won't beat Kentucky this year, and I'm 50-50 on Missouri. Wouldn't be surprised to see LA Tech scare them and Wofford will run that triple option and make it closer than it should. Don't listen to their self processed hype about all their "weapons of offense". I'm going with 4-8, POSS 5-7 at the very best. Vandy might also beat them.

I will just put 100 on the under.*****

I read somewhere not to long ago that the pundits(whoever they maybe)
said the Kentucky game on 9-16 was "must win"game if they are to have a winning season.
So let's give them that game for argument sake.
I see wins against La.Tech,Vanderbilt( only because it's at home)and Wofford.
That's only 4 wins.
I don't see them beating the traditional SEC East opponents so that means they more than likely they will have to win on the road at Missouri, and beat Arkansas just to break even.
The game we should all be looking at is their opener against State. The Pack is supposed to be really good this year.
I fully expect the The Pack to win,but if the coots should pull the upset then that will give them a little "MO".
Still,I think 6-6 would keep Muskchump for another year.

7 would surprise me. 6 not a bit.

Tough bet I guess.

Aug 12, 2017, 11:42 PM [ in reply to Re: Looking at the Coot schedule. ]

I am in the 6-7 wins camp as well. I keep hearing them talk about how tough their schedule is, and I'm over here like "What?" NC State I can't get behind until they prove it game in/out. UK? C'Mon. Arkansas appears to be trending downward, LA Tech, Wofford wins. Missouri has zero Defense, and UT is replacing 75% of a team that folded and had a bad D, throw in UF being pedestrian on offense and replacing an entire defense, as well as T&AM with a new QB and Swiss Cheese D. That is 8 wins by a decent team, 9 if NC St can't get it together. Still, cawks are gonna ####, so I figure they may squeeze 7 possibly, but I hope I'm wrong and they win 2-3.

I got them at 5-7 and missing a bowl .
They have to beat NC State in the opener and maybe Arkansas at home to have ANY chance of making it to a bowl game ...and I think they lose both .

I agree Tigerdug ....... Arkansas is the kind of team that gives them fits and Missouri should be improved offensively and defensively .....couldn't be much worse. I think they will have to play pretty well to win 5. Kentucky has had their number when Scar was probably the better team. This year I don't know if that is the case.

Re: Looking at the Coot schedule.

Aug 12, 2017, 7:57 PM

LaTech and Wofford are gimmes

They beat Ky or Mizzou - I don't think both

Probably Vandy

Probably Arky at home

Then, they usually win one every season that they aren't supposed to.

At best 6? Hopefully 4

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Anything above five wins...

Aug 12, 2017, 8:50 PM

would be attributable to the weak schedule they play because this team will show very few if any signs of improvement compared to last year. They just don't have the talent, the depth, or the coaching.

Re: Looking at the Coot schedule.

Why the coots won't win anywhere close to 6 games:

2017 Season
Schedule PDF
Date Matchup Result/Time Game Info
Sat, Sep 2* vs NC State
NCSU has a really good D, and USUC has proven they cannot score against good D's.

Sat, Sep 9 @ Missouri
Mizzou plays tons better at HOME than AWAY, and USUC plays at Mizzou this year. Last year was a close game, but Mizzou will punish the coots.

Sat, Sep 16 vs Kentucky
USUC just cannot beat UK any longer. PERIOD.

Sat, Sep 23 vs LA Tech
Seriously? LT had a really good team last year, and Skip Holtz might want to make a statement. LT wins this one.

Sat, Sep 30 @ Texas A&M
USUC cannot beat A&M. PERIOD.

Sat, Oct 7 vs Arkansas
Yes - there is a snowball's chance in hades that USUC can beat Arky at Home, but doubtful. Possibly a toss-up, but I think Arky wins it.

Sat, Oct 14 @ Tennessee
Even with the worst (or 2nd worst) HC in the SEC, UT is at Home and will beat USUC.

Sat, Oct 28 vs Vanderbilt
Maybe, maybe, maybe USUC can pull another win out of their butts with Vandy, but I like Vandy in this one.

Sat, Nov 4 @ Georgia
Are you kidding? UGA rolls thru USUC's D and destroys them at their house.

Sat, Nov 11 vs Florida
HAHAHAHA - UF punishes the coots.

Sat, Nov 18 vs Wofford
Okay - yes - I'll give the coots this one. Geez.

Sat, Nov 25 vs Clemson
LOL - 4-bomb and fear the thumb after this massacre is over.

I'll stick with 1-11 and I'll be closer than anyone thinking they win 6 games.

Re: Looking at the Coot schedule.

Wins: La. Tech, Vandy, Wofford*
Toss-ups: Missouri, UK., maybe Ark.
Losses: Clemson, UF, UGa.,UT, Texas A&M, NCST.

Personally I think 5-7 will be their record, but the SEC east is once again a sorry bunch of teams so who knows what happens? 2018 for Muscrap and crew get easier, but if Usuck loses more than seven games this year he likely will be pushed out while Tanner searches for another coach for 2018.

Go Tigers!

Re: Looking at the Coot schedule.

I put a small star by Wofford in my previous post because this is Usuck's trap game. Look ahead to rivalry week and the Terriers could upset the chickens. My college team returns a huge numbers of veterans and if they remain healthy then watch out! SoCon. Win #2.!

Go Terriers & Tigers!
