Should be able to take 18-20 recruits in 2018

Feb 17, 2017, 1:46 PM

With all these transfers leaving early for PT. Don't see how we could only take 14-16 again with the amount of transfers and players leaving early. Still loaded with young talent, but 2018 has the chance to be the #1 class in recruiting if we can get close to 20.

Not sure, I think we'd already counted on them being gone

They would have been fifth year next year.

Idk, I know its all guys looking for PT in their last year that's basically been beaten out by the younger guys. I don't think they accounted for Baker and Pogano leaving so that should at least be 2 extra spots for the 2018 class.

Baker and Pogano would have been seniors next year anyway, so their transfers won't add any scholarships to the class.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Recruiting rankings are always exciting to see,

But now that the dust has settled and the football season is over, we're #1 in the rankings on the field!

Rising SRs leaving don't help the scholarship issue at all

Feb 17, 2017, 2:13 PM

Those scholarships were already going to be available for 2018. We are basically just losing some pretty solid depth off the 2017 defense in exchange for (likely) giving a couple of 1 year scholarships to walkons.

Could have taken another THIS year I think.

Yeah but at the cost of next year.***

All the seniors transferring do not free up scholarships

Feb 17, 2017, 3:33 PM

all they do is allow a walk-on to get a one year ride
