Get it together Track and Field. Lower than the football team. ;)

In all seriousness, this is a nice reflection of the work the athletic and academic departments do for the athletes at Clemson. Really putting them in a good position to graduate. :) Keep up the hard work everyone.

How are football players that leave early for the NFL treated in this statistic?

Don't graduate, brings the % down.

Keep in mind, only a handful leave for the draft early. Of the ~115 on the official roster only a few leave before graduating. Usually the ones who know they'll "make it" in the NFL (Sammy). The others who just don't graduate, not sure what their stories are. Perhaps it's according to the class they are in coinciding with their eligibility - not sure.

Now, for attrition, illness, personal leave of absence, I don't know how that factors in.

If they come back and earn their degree, does it help the % ?

I would think not because they didn't graduate in their intended class. Like I said, that might be where class rank and eligibility play a role. For example, I don't think you can leave in 2010 then return in 2020, finish, then "boost" the 2010 data. So if they leave early in 2010, then they're done, brings the percentage down.
