As a 1984 Clemson grad, I have been to most home games
for the last 35 years. Given the fact that there were 85k people in attendance, that was the weakest applause I have ever heard. The next President of Clemson University needs to take note. Don't sacrifice the values and integrity of Clemson University in order to become a top 25 academic institution. Being Clemson is good enough!

Outstanding leader and person. He's been a great president!

His tenure at Clemson was marked by some huge changes, including substantial improvements in our academic reputation. He has changed the face of Clemson in a great way, from a regionally respected university to a nationally respected one. He has done so while also providing a record level of funding for athletics. Well done, President Barker!

I am concerned that his replacement will not have the high standards for Clemson that he has. I sincerely hope our search for the next president is aggressive and thorough. It is a very key hire, for sure.

We can and must do much better than Barker when we select our next president. Clemson could really excel with a truly dynamic leader who is focused on real improvement--not just the artificial, trumped-up indicators that are only meant to make us look good for the US News rankings.
