Gil Brandt was a great talent evaulator for the Cowboys ...

Seriously, though ... this maybe a great situation for Clemson, because Sammy is going to have to re-prove himself and hopefully that will be a huge incentive for him to become the consensus #1 WR in college football by the end of the season.

Only 3 of the top 5 are from the SEC.
I can see a case made for Lee and maybe Evans being better than Watkins, but not the others.

#1 by the end of the year

He's got the best QB of anyone on that list. I can't definitively say he's a better WR than Lee, but he's def. got a better QB.

I think Sammy is a solid #2, if not a #1A with Lee

However, Lee's numbers last year were absolutely ridiculous even if Sammy outperformed him during his freshman year. I also wouldn't sleep on USC's QB's. They're unproven, but they're among the most talented in the country (a 5 star guy is third on the depth chart behind two other guys who were among the top 5 QBs in their classes).

Bs like I said before I live right here in la. Kiffin can't get it done the teams will suck again. Overrated as always. Clemson would have walked out here a spanked USC. I know I have the pleasure of seeing both play live.

so let's compare stats for these guys...
Aug 15, 2013, 12:24 PM
|
|
1. Marquise Lee 2012- 1721 (!) yards receiving 2011- 1143 yards receiving
2. Donte Moncrief 2012- 979 yards receiving 2011- 454 yards receiving
3. Amari Cooper 2012- 1000 yards receiving
4. Mike Davis 2012- 939 yards receiving 2011- 609 yards receiving
5. Mike Evans 2012- 1105 yards receiving
6. Sammy Watkins 2012- 708 yards receiving 2011- 1219 yards receiving
So, uhh... Sammy only played healthy in about 8 games last year, and he still only had about 200 yards less receving than Davis and Moncrief. Somehow, that "down year" from when he outpeformed every other WR in this list during his freshman year makes him not as good as these other guys.

Him and Marqise Lee will be sitting pretty at 1a and 1b by the end of the season. I'm not worried. He will still put up great numbers and be a top 15 pick in 2014, the same can't be said about all those other guys except Lee.

USC couldn't do Jack. Watkins just needs to be serious and dominate.

I don't live in LA, I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but I do have a TV and have see Lee play. He is awesome. He had 8 100+ yard games last year. Anyone can have a bad game, so you can't define him by one game. Watkins had virtually the exact same stats as Lee did against GT.
