Pollsters rank teams based on perceived strength of schedule and conference, then other pollsters rank conferences based on ranking of teams. This then impacts the perception of conference strength and impacts the rankings in a skewed fashion.
No wonder the Big East and ACC continue to slide down while SEC just snowballs bigger...
