Not 100% sure, but I don't think that is correct.

Clemson has a contract with Stubhub to help season ticket holders sell tickets for individual games. So when a season ticket holder wants to sell their tickets they can do so through stubhub. To ensure that duplicates are not printed, Clemson issues the new tickets (why confirmation comes from Clemson) and they deactivate the barcode on the old tickets.
