Yikes! that sucks to go from being an athelete to being a normal citizen in one moment. best of luck to the guy. hopefully he landed a useful degree!

Someone will probably give him a chance. Jerry Martin of Columbia signed as a free agent out of Furman years ago and ended up playing eleven years in the big leagues. After his performance in the Regional, I expected Felder to get drafted in the late rounds.

i think he at least deserves a legitimate shot from a team.

good luck to him wherever he ends up.

It bites, but that's what degrees are for after all. Best of luck to him.

I know this guy (he is my cousin), He will be fine I am already working on a job for him. I had him one awhile ago but told him if he had the opportunity to play for Clemson to take it. The jobs will come to those who work hard. I graduated from Clemson and told him he needed to experience it.

Glad he did.

He came from the Citadel, didn't he? That won't hurt either***

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

does anyone know why he had a 5th year of eligibity?

Jun 7, 2012, 1:16 PM

a Citadel buddy said he missed a year for some reason other than injury? study-abroad maybe?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He didn't

Jun 7, 2012, 6:19 PM

As I understand it, he red-shirted a year and played 3 at the Citadel so when he got to Clemson he had a year left.

Request for Brad Felder

Jun 8, 2012, 9:36 AM

Brad, there are independent leagues in the midwest and northwest. You're young and footloose, dude. Pack a bag and give it a shot.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's an independent team in Anderson

Jun 8, 2012, 10:07 AM

or at least there was. I think they're called the Anderson Joes or something?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nevermind

Jun 8, 2012, 11:35 AM

apparently they've existed in name only since 2008 due to financial concerns.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Oh, my ... trying to find a job after graduating.

Jun 8, 2012, 11:22 AM

How untimely!

Seriously, thanks for the contributions he made to the team. Played pretty well down the stretch and made some amazing catches in RF.
